Putting into Action God’s Word

Is it really so hard to live out what we believe? My Generation seems to think simply claiming Christianity is enough for them.

My name is Laura Lee. I am a wife, a mother to 3 handsome boys, a fur baby mom to 4 rambunctious dogs, but most importantly, I am a Child of the King. My identity in Christ is the most important part of me. I have been saved by the Grace of God for 7 years now. I am turning 33 at the end of the year and yes, I was reared in Church from the time I was a baby. Even when my dad was working, my mom took me and my younger brother to Church every time the doors were open. But still, it took me until my mid 20’s to finally find Jesus. Why ? Simple…because even in the Bible belt, a true understanding of sacrifice to Christ is absent.

I could sit here and tell you The Government is to blame, that the Media is to blame, Preachers, Teachers, Parents are to blame…but the truth is clear, putting the blame on anyone but ourselves is ignorance. Being a Christian does not mean placing your trust in any of these people I just mentioned. It means placing your trust in Christ alone. How do we do that? Simple…by studying and reading the Word of God. You have to know the God you serve. The only way to truly know him is to spend time in his Word, Daily.

This is where my Generation- The Millennials- have failed in understanding Christianity. So many believe Christianity is believing The Gospel, walking an isle, talking to a Preacher, joining a church through baptism and being done. But that’s not the end! It’s only the beginning! Because there is a thing called false conversion. Study the Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13, Mark 4, and Luke 8). The only true Conversion is one who Grows to maturity and produces Fruit- the fruits of the Spirit (found in Galatians 5:22-23).

If I were to do a survey on my Generation, i’m certain that the amount of those who believe walking an isle is enough to be saved would be astonishing! So how do we change this not only for my Generation but for those to come? We address the problem AND not only talk about the solution, but put it into practice in our lives!
